Our committee is an association under law 1901, formed on 28th May 2013. Its purpose is to create a partnership between the residents of Le Guilvinec (Pays Bigouden – Brittany - France) and of Schull (Province of Munster, County Cork - Ireland) for the development of common synergies in all areas including cultural, economic, sporting, linguistic or recreational, as part of the “Celtic” Community Identity, in order to strengthen the links of friendship between the two countries.
LE GUILVINEC is a small commune, without agricultural activities, and consequently classed as a small village with slightly less than 3,000 inhabitants, essentially centred on both inshore and deep-sea fishing.
